Heartbreak

There is heartbreak in the dew drops clinging to the window on winter mornings. In the scatter on the table, the pile of clothes on the chair. In the whites of my hair, in the tangles of yours. In the dark cloud above your head, in the darkness around mine. In your window where the light stays on all night, in the constellations which are curtained by rain clouds. In your breath, tucked behind your ears, in the corner of your eyes, in the kajal on mine. In the smoke that rises from your cigarette in the fallen ash on your leg. It clings to your wrists like sweat it’s braided into my hair like strands of motia. How many heartbreaks make up an atom? How many heartbreaks make the light in your eyes dull. Make you pull away? How many heartbreaks for us to fall into each other?
